What to say to a gay friend

This is the text of a sermon I preached in August 2008. I encouraged the congregation to imagine having a conversation with a friend who shares that they are gay. What would you say? How would you respond? We often forget that homosexuality isn’t an issue to be debated – it’s about real people that we love.
